MOLD REMOVAL AND CONTAINMENTS

One of the most important phases in mold remediation is containment. A containment is simply isolating a work space with plastic sheathing to ensure that contaminants or potential contaminants will not escape. The materials we usually use are 10' x 100' clear plastic visqueen, duct tape, and staples. We sometimes create containment systems in which individual rooms or larger areas of a structure are separated. Creating smaller containment areas to reduce the size of a room can be very helpful to speed up drying a

structure. This can be accomplished by simply erecting a plastic wall to separate the dry areas from the wet areas. When the area is smaller, the dehumidification equipment works more efficiently as it has less of an area to dry. Check out our video from a recent mold project with several containment areas.
